Prof. Dr. Dr. Jan Ilhan Kizilhan studied psychology, law, sociology and oriental studies in Germany and the United States.
He works as clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, hypnotherapist and trauma therapist (DeGPT), and is a lecturer and supervisor in the area of education and further training, as well as a consultant and advisor for courts and international institutions. He is head of department and clinical manager of the Michael Balint Clinic, and head of the department of Mental Health and Addiction at the Cooperative State University Baden-Württemberg.
Professor Kizilhan is medical and psychological head of the special quata of the state ministry, in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, where he brings and treats 1100 girls from Iraq and Syria who have previously been captured by IS (“Islamic State”).
He is the author of numerous books and professional articles and works as a reviewer for several international journals.
