Respekt Institut was established in 2001 in affiliation with Respekt, the leading Czech news weekly, aiming to build upon Respekt’s journalistic work and contribute to the development of civil society in the Czech Republic and beyond. It organises public debates and assists in publishing analytical texts on current affairs, including human rights conditions around the world, and corruption in Czech politics. It has recently upgraded its activity to include policy analysis, stressing the concept of good governance at home and abroad. In the recente years Respekt Institut has been very active promoting democracy and Human Rights in Latin America. Respekt Institut is also member of DEMAS*.
