IBUKA

 

IBUKA, which literally means « remember », is an umbrella organization including survivors’ associations and any other groups or individuals concerned about the fight against the genocide in Rwanda and, in particular, the rehabilitation of survivors and the Rwandese society.  IBUKA is comprised of numerous organizations that strive to find solutions to the problems created by the genocide. Those associations include: The objectives of IBUKA are to coordinate members’ associations’ activities, especially regarding social life, and to look for equitable justice banishing impunity and preserving the memory of the victims of the genocide. IBUKA also has branches in Belgium, France, Switzerland and Italy.
