Bart Woord (25) is the current Secretary General of the International Federation of Liberal Youth (est. 1947), a worldwide umbrella organization representing over 100 youth organizations and 2.5 million young liberals. Within the IFLRY Bureau, Bart is the Deputy President and focuses among other things on the former Soviet countries, IT and political communication, and relations with external partners and organizations. Previously he was International Officer and Vice President of the Jonge Democraten, the largest non-confessional political youth organization in the Netherlands. He drew wide international attention as campaign leader of his organization during the referendum on the European Constitution in May 2005. He has a BA degree in International Relations and International Organizations from the University of Groningen and is currently finishing his MA degree in the same programme.
Since February 2009 Bart has been based in Baku, Azerbaijan.
