Mr. Pavel Marozau is an economist and political activist from Belarus who worked for numerous projects such as "Arts against Dictatorship" and supported the oppositional presidential candidate Aleksandr Kozulin's campaign in the Belarusian 2006 elections. As the coordinator of the independent non-governmental organization 'Third Way Belarus' Mr. Marozau had to flee the country in 2007 for posting satirical cartoons of President Lukashenko. "Defamation of the President" is punished with up to 5 years imprisonment in Belarus. Knowing to what extent the Belarusian court is arbitrary and realizing the regime's desire to crash the initiative, Mr. Marozau sought asylum in Estonia from where he continued his political struggle against the Belarusian dictatorship.
